Bluefield Christmas Parade

An invitation to all Floats, Cars, Walking Units, Pageant Queens, Marching Units, Bands, VIP’s, Club & Organizations, Club Presidents, and Individuals & Antique Car Owners.

The Bluefield Christmas Parade Committee would like to invite everyone to its’ Annual Christmas Parade to be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 1:00 pm. The Theme for this year’s parade is “Christmas Memories”. We ask that everyone incorporate this theme into your float. The Route to be taken will start on the corner of South Street & Bland Street, North on bland Street to Federal Street and Right at Princeton Avenue ending at the Green Grassy area where the Parking Garage stood.

We invite you to participate by entering your float in any of the above categories. First Place will be awarded $250.00, Second Place $100.00, Third Place $75.00 and Most Unusual $50.00. If you wish to be judged for one of the above prizes, you must send the Application and Entry Fee of $25.00 made payable to the Bluefield Christmas Parade Committee, to 200 Federal Street, Bluefield WV 24701 no later than December 11, 2015. December 12: Experience the Christmas Tour of Homes in Historic Bramwell. Meet at the Presbyterian Church an hour before the event to purchase tickets. Interpreters will be at each home to tell stories of the early days of the town. Music is available, along with free refreshments. Advance reservations are NOT necessary. The City of Bluefield, West Virginia welcomes you to one of the largest light shows in the two Virginias--over 600,000 lights transformed into a showcase of holiday themes that are sure to touch the hearts of every visitor. Holiday of Light Activities

•December 5, 12, 19, 26: Hayrides with Santa, Elf and the Farmer ($3/person) and Bonfire. Time: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

•December 6, 13, 20, 27: A walk through the park at the Holiday of Lights Festival in Bluefield. A unique viewing experience walking through our light display highlights the beauty of the holiday season. We invite you to marvel at over 700,000 lights while you take a stroll around the park. Time: 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. Park will open to vehicles at 6 p.m.

•December 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19: A Night in Bethlehem - Bring the entire family and join us on a journey to the Biblical City of Bethlehem. Be a part of history and witness the events that led up to the birth of Jesus Christ. Take a walk through the marketplace and visit the shops. Taste treats at the Bakery and Candy Shops. Participate in “hands-on” activities in the Pottery and Metal Working shops. Hang on to your coins for the Roman census and taxation (coins will be provided). 304-320-7099

•December 4, 11, 18 Santa and his elves at the Ridge Runner Train Station and Trolley will start in the parking lot outside the Holiday of Lights entrance. This will include a visit with Santa and an open-air trolley ride to enjoy 40 plus acres of beautiful light displays. Feel free to bring your camera.
