Summit Players Shines With “Pure Gold! Summit Players Celebrating 50 Years” Musical Revue
Summit Players, the Bluefield community‘s theatrical leader, kicks off a half-century of providing entertainment excellence with its musical production of “Pure Gold! Summit Players Celebrating 50 Years” on March 5th, 6th, 11th, 12th, and 13th, 2016, at the Summit Theatre, Bluefield Area Arts Center, 500 Bland Street, Bluefield, WV.
While all of the details of the year-long, semi-centennial, celebration are still being worked out, Summit Players hopes to feature an exhibit of artifacts from past shows, to hold a Summit Players alumni reunion, and to provide a full season of the outstanding theatrical shows that the acting company has been known for, over the past 50 years.
The upcoming “Pure Gold!” musical revue features music, song, and comedy from the 1920’s, through today. Audience members are encouraged to costume themselves in the style of their favorite musical era. Sherri Snider, Co-Director, pointed out that “We want everyone to have a night of dressing up and ‘painting the town’ with us!”
The doors open for the dinner theater shows at 6:00 p.m. Adult tickets are $35 each; tickets for children under age 12 are $18 each. Dinner will be provided by Kathy Matney, Caterer. The Sunday matinees start at 2:00 p.m., with adult tickets being $15 per person, while tickets for children under age 12 are $10 each.
