Annual Lemonade Festival and Blues Festival

Chuck Mathena Center Presents: Pump Boys & Dinettes

The Chuck Mathena Center presents the Pump Boys & Dinettes Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20.00 and available at The "Pump Boys" sell high octane on Highway 57 in Grand Ole Opry Country and the "Dinettes." Prudie and Rhetta Cupp, run the Double Cupp Diner next door. Together they fashion an evening of country western songs that received unanimous raves on and off-Broadway. With heartbreak and hilarity, they perform on guitars, piano, bass, and yes, kitchen utensils. Preformed by West Virginia's own, Greenbrier Valley Theatre.

Join us for a fun Saturday evening of live music on the lawn, with all proceeds to help pay expenses for the antique mural repair in the house's library. Hot Dogs, chips, desserts and drinks will be available, plus we'll have a 50/50 raffle. Bring your own lawn chairs, we'll provide the tent. Admission $5 Per person - Advance Ticket Sales Available

Two Virginia's 5K

Join us for our first annual Two Virginias 5K Challenge as we tackle fitness while supporting our favorite local teams! This race is not like any other! Following the biggest game that defines the two Virginias, it only seems appropriate that we host a 5K Challenge where you can represent your TEAM! We challenge all dedicated fans of any school, college, and neighborhood from our two Virginias or beyond to come score a touchdown for your squad!

Adult: $20
Youth (12 and younger):$10

Register by August 15, 2016 to be guaranteed a t-shirt!

Race Day Registration will be located downtown at the Bluefield Chamber of Commerce on Bland Street starting at 7:00 am.

Kickoff will be at 9:00 am at the clock on 319 Bland Street Bluefield, WV 24701. Participants will head down Bland Street and make a left onto Bluefield Avenue.

The end zone will be located on Virginia Avenue near New Graham Pharmacy in Bluefield, Va.

Event parking will be located in downtown Bluefield, WV. Transportation post race will be provided by the City of Bluefield, WV and the Town of Bluefield, Va. to help bus participants back to their vehicles.

Immediately following the race, the Award Ceremony will take place at Jack Asbury Square in Bluefield, Va.

Top 3 Male and Female Overall Finishers
Top 3 Male and Female Winners per age group
Top 3 Team Challenge Winners
Top 6 School Spirit Winners (for all ages)

Age Groups will be as follows: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+

Outdoor concert featuring "The Change" & Open House

The Baldwin House located at 127 Summers Street in Bluefield, turns 100 Years Old. An outdoor concert will be held on the grounds across the street from the Baldwin House featuring “The Change”, West Virginia’s Hottest Fund Band August 26 from 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Lawn Seating – Blankets provided free of charge. Lawn Seating – Bring your own chair. VIP Seating will be available $10.00/person including chairs and refreshments. Proceeds benefit the Wade Center.
